A magical Festival experience. Summer Festival. Manjushri Buddhism Kadampa Meditation Centre.

The three International Festivals - Spring Festival, Summer Festival and Fall Festival- were founded by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, a world-renowned meditation master and Teacher who inspired thousands of people around the world to apply the pure teachings of Buddha to their modern lives to solve their personal problems and discover a deep and lasting inner peace and happiness.

Because of his extraordinary vision and kindness, the methods for accomplishing inner peace are now available to people of all countries and cultures. This humble monk has touched the hearts of countless people and inspired them to set out on a blissful journey to lasting happiness.

Kadampa Festivals are an important part of his legacy giving people everywhere an opportunity to come together as an international family of spiritual practitioners.

A magical Festival experience

Festivals are a spiritual holiday like no other. They allow us to step away from the busyness of daily life and make time for our inner spiritual development for a concentrated period. In this way we accelerate our progress, deepening our understanding and experience in a relatively short period of time. We also have the opportunity to meet and be part of the International Kadampa community. A diverse, worldwide family of practitioners at every stage of their spiritual development. Following the same Spiritual Guide, our aspirations and intentions bring us close together as we travel on the same inner path to happiness.

The International Summer Festival was held from 28th July to August 12th, at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre, in the UK.

In Week 1 of that special Festival, Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab, retired General Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU, taught the stages of Kadam Lamrim of Sutra.

In Week 2, Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, General Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU, taught the stages of Kadam Lamrim of Tantra by granting the Highest Yoga Tantra empowerments and commentaries of Heruka Body Mandala and Vajrayogini.

The Festival has been held at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Center, a major international Kadampa Buddhist center situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park in the UK. Manjushri KMC is the principal center of the New Kadampa Tradition, International Kadampa Buddhist Union, where Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche lived and taught for decades.

The teachings and meditations will be held in the First Kadampa Temple for World Peace, which was designed and blessed by Venerable Geshe-la.

The center stands in seventy acres of gardens and woodland with a lake, streams, numerous walks and an enchanting beach on the shores of Morecambe Bay. It is in an area of outstanding natural beauty with many opportunities for walks and other leisure activities.
